Hello everyone we are about one month away from our league
championships. This is a meet where everyone can participate. We are one
of the strongest teams in our league so your every child's
participation is very important.
This year the meet will be run at Maloney High School in Meriden CT over the weekend of February 22 thru 24.
Friday night session will be only kids swimming long events like the 500 free and 200 free.
Saturday morning will only be 8 and under swimmers.
Saturday afternoon will only be 9/10 year olds.
Sunday morning will only be 11/12 year olds.
Sunday afternoon will only be 13 and over.
As we get closer warm up times will be announced.
This
championship meet is different than in years past. It is being run by
our league as a whole. We will each be assigned jobs/ tasks to perform
and at the end we will receive a portion of monies earned from the meet
to benefit our kids.
Our job for this
meet will be to not only supply help for concession and timers but two
other jobs as well. We will need two volunteers for each session to be
Meet Marshall's. a Marshall main job is to make sure that there is no
one on the deck that shouldn't be and be the first face to answer
questions if needed. Parents are not allowed on deck at all at
championships so this is a great opportunity to be up close and personal
with a very exciting meet. Our second job is to post the results in the
hallway, cafe, and pool area after each event.
If
any of these sound like jobs you would be interested in please respond
or see me with questions. The meet and our kids will not swim unless we
will fill these jobs. So please I am begging sooner PLEASE volunteer.
And
lastly this meet costs our booster club money for fees. If you can not
attend I need to know by February 4th. If you do not let me know and do
not show up for the meet you will be charged your child's meet fees.
