Get Ready for Championships: February 22nd-24th

It's Taper Time...

With Championships just weeks away it is important to keep your swimmer swimming as much as possible hopefully mother nature will help us out. We will be entering the "taper" phase of swimming, which means your child's fastest swimming with more rest to prepare them for the end of the year.
At home, you can help by making sure your swimmer is getting plenty of fluids and eating healthy, try to eliminate bad foods for the next two weeks. At the beginning of this week you can protein load their diets, but by the middle of next week you swimmer must go into a "carbo" load phase less protein more carbs.... pasta, fruits, breads etc.

As always if you have if you have questions regarding anything, just ask.

Our championships will be held at Maloney High School in Meriden over the weekend of February 22nd thru the 24th.

Friday night warm ups are at 5 pm.... I will have the swimmers that will be swimming this evening and send it in a email tomorrow.

Sunday pm warm ups will be at 12:30 pmthis is the 13 and over session. I need timers and a poster of results.

If you can't attend these championships you should have already spoken with me or reply to the email and let me know. And if you can volunteer as a reminder your kids will be there the whole session and the money raised at this meet will come back to the Stingrays so please think about volunteering. And respond or let me know in person, thank you!

We have a pep rally Wednesday Feb 20th from 6 to 7 after practice please rsvp if your swimmer can make it! It is sure to be a good time.

I hope you all survived Nemo and hope to see your kids tonight.
